Friday 15th April 2016

Time: 17:00 – 22.00

Saturday 16th April 2016

Time: 10:00 – 14.30

FRIDAY: Attend the Choral Evensong which STARTS at 17:00, followed by a private tour of Westminster Abbey, 20 Deans Yard, London SW1P 3PA – the tour starts at the North Door, at 18:00 and will last for approximately 60 minutes and includes a tour of the Shrine (containing the tomb of Saint Edward the Confessor), the Royal Tombs, Poets’ Corner, the Cloisters and the Nave.  We are hoping one of the vergers will lead the tour.

Following the tour we de-camp for a 2-course meal, booked for 19:30 at the Colosseo Italian Restaurant, 79 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0HW and ½ bottle of wine included in the price.

SATURDAY: Tour of the United Grand Lodge of England, Freemasons’ Hall is located at 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ.

The tour starts at 10:30 prompt so suggest arriving at 10am, tour will last about 1 hour then time to look at the museum.  We should ready to leave around 12:30 and make our way to Brick Lane in Shoreditch E1 6QL – via the Central Line to Liverpool Street and then a 15-minute walk.  There is no formal tour but if you have not visited beforehand it is a delightful area, full of little shops and stalls, to visit.  The aim is to have lunch [pay for yourself, but is inexpensive] in the Market Hall at 152 Brick Lane where there are numerous different stalls with cuisine from different countries to choose from.  It will be fun to do this together, but if you only wish to attend the Grand Lodge tour that is fine.

To book any or all of these events, please mail President Corinna Edge – – with the following information:

How many places for the Westminster Abbey tour @ £15 per person

How many places for Dinner at Colosseo @ £35 per person

How many places for the Grand Lodge Tour @ £15 per person

Wednesday 16th March 2016

Three events in one day!

WARD MOTE: The President will be attending the Ward Mote, which is chaired by our Alderman, Peter Hewitt, and attended by our ward Common Councilmen.  Members are able to join the meeting or go directly to the restaurant.

LUNCH: At Marco Pierre White’s restaurant for a 2-course meal and a glass of wine.

TOUR: Following lunch we have a tour of Mercers’ Hall; as many of you will know the Mercers’ are the number 1 Livery in the City and they have promised to open up the silver vaults for us to see their collection. It is about 15 minutes walk from the restaurant.

“After seeing a special weekday luncheon offer in the restaurant, the President and I had a very pleasant bar snack there on Saturday and have reserved some spaces prior to our tour at Mercers’ Hall.  I do hope you can join us for the 3 events or, if you prefer, skip the Ward Mote and go directly to the restaurant. “
